Safe Harbor Church is sponsoring a special fundraiser to raise money for the CAMA Services’ (Compassion and Mercy Associates) “Trees of Life” program. CAMA’s goal is to plant 30,000 moringa trees in Africa and Asia over the next twelve months. The moringa tree is a miracle plant with it’s leaves providing a concentration of nutrients that are often lacking in the diet of people living in these areas. No other plant provides such a wide variety of vitamins and minerals, rebuilding weak bones, reducing high blood pressure and even helping in the fight against AIDS by boosting the immune system. Gram for gram, the moringa leaves have 2 times the protein of yogurt, 7 times the vitamin C of oranges, 3 times the potassium of bananas, 4 times the vitamin A of carrots and 4 times the calcium of milk!

To help raise money for “Trees of Life,” we are selling t-shirts that feature the moringa tree and 1 Peter 2:24. A photo of the shirt is attached. (the color of the shirt should be a bit greener). The shirt is a fitted, 50/50 poly/cotton blend by American Apparel - very soft and comfortable. The cost per shirt is $18 and for each shirt, two trees will be purchased. Safe Harbor Church is about to experience something brand new - our first stateside mission trip! We are sending a team to go to Philly, PA from July 2nd-6th to help another church plant in painting their buildings. Even if you’re not going on the trip, it is very important that you join us THIS SUNDAY @ 6:15pm to help commission the team. Please pray for the trip and the team as they put feet on the vision of SHC - to reach, connect & send!

The next Day to Make a Difference work day will be Saturday, June 6th from 8:00-2:00pm. We’ll be fixing up the park where we met the last time, and lunch will be provided.  Hope to see you there!

We are currently planning a short-term, state-side mission trip to Philadelphia, PA from July 2nd through the 6th. We’re going to work with another church plant there doing some painting and praying with them. The cost will be between $200-$300 per person, and we need a $50 deposit by May 19th if you’re planning to go. Email Marie for more details.
