More Than a Baby: A Christmas Revelation

Nov 25th, 2009 by admin | 0 comments

More Than a Baby: A Christmas Revelation” is unlike any service that you have ever attended.  It is a journey from Genesis to Revelation outlining God’s awesome, redemptive plan for man.  Incorporating music, video, poetry, creative writing and scripture, this service is sure to challenge and expand your revelation of the Christ.  You will walk away with a greater sense of purpose and spiritual enlightenment.

More Than a Baby: A Christmas Revelation” is not a skit, a play, or a production.  Rather, it is an interactive worship experience guaranteed to draw you closer to God.  Please come to SHC this Sunday, December 20th @ 6:15pm and share with us during this beautiful season!  We hope to see you there!

Trees for Life!

Nov 10th, 2009 by admin | 0 comments

Safe Harbor Church is sponsoring a special fundraiser to raise money for the CAMA Services’ (Compassion and Mercy Associates) “Trees of Life” program. CAMA’s goal is to plant 30,000 moringa trees in Africa and Asia over the next twelve months. The moringa tree is a miracle plant with it’s leaves providing a concentration of nutrients that are often lacking in the diet of people living in these areas. No other plant provides such a wide variety of vitamins and minerals, rebuilding weak bones, reducing high blood pressure and even helping in the fight against AIDS by boosting the immune system. Gram for gram, the moringa leaves have 2 times the protein of yogurt, 7 times the vitamin C of oranges, 3 times the potassium of bananas, 4 times the vitamin A of carrots and 4 times the calcium of milk!

To help raise money for “Trees of Life,” we are selling t-shirts that feature the moringa tree and 1 Peter 2:24. A photo of the shirt is attached. (the color of the shirt should be a bit greener). The shirt is a fitted, 50/50 poly/cotton blend by American Apparel - very soft and comfortable. The cost per shirt is $18 and for each shirt, two trees will be purchased. If you would like to order a shirt please mail a check to:

Safe Harbor Church/Trees of Life Fundraiser
524 Walker Road
Pelham, AL 35124

If you would like to give your check to someone who attends SHC, that’s fine as well. Be sure to include a note with your sizes and quantity.

Please pass this message along to your friends and family, post it on Facebook or MySpace, or put a link on your blog. You can help make a real impact. For more information about CAMA Services and this project, visit www.camaservices.org. Click “Thanksgiving Offering [Trees of Life]” for detailed information about the project.  If you want to see an example of the shirt, click here!

Exciting New from Kid’s Dock

Aug 12th, 2009 by admin | 0 comments

Hello Everyone!

I am pleased to share with you some exciting news from Kid’s Dock, the children’s ministry of Safe Harbor. We will be utilizing a new curriculum starting Sept 6th for all age groups (from infants up to kindergarten). The material is called Faith Weavers. You can check them out here online.

Some highlights of this material:
-The whole of the Bible will be covered in the course of 3 years, including Old and New Testaments.
-Take home sheets for the parents to help them “train up their children”.
-Age level material, including singing and activities.
-Easy instructions to follow for the teachers.

The other aspect to this material is that it is expandable to the whole church. This means that the same Bible truths being taught to the little ones are covered all the way up to the adult material. While we are not using the adult material at this time, it will allow us to easily expand to do so.

If you have any questions about this material, please feel free to speak with myself or Holly. Also, I want to publicly thank Holly for her help in Kid’s Dock. We couldn’t do it without her!
